An unforgettable day trip to Bruny Island by

sea, land & table

Signature Experience

The perfect addition to your Tasmanian holiday.

6–7 hours | Up to 8 guests | From $500 per person | Departing Kettering or pickup from Hobart available

Bruny's only day trip by boat, hosted by people who live here.

Designed for those who prefer to travel a little differently, our signature experience is private, unhurried and deeply local. Skip the ferry queues and discover Bruny by sea, arriving in the island's quiet northern corner to share a long lunch, meet the people who make this place so special, and experience the island through local eyes.

Your day includes:

  • Meet us at Oyster Cove Marina, Kettering or we can arrange pickup from Hobart

  • 1–1.5 hour adventure cruise through Bruny Island's spectacular surrounding waters

  • Scenic cruise around the island's northern coastline, accessible to few visitors

  • Personalised four-course seasonal long lunch at Bruny Island Wild, overlooking the Dennes Point foreshore.

  • Time to wander bruny NORTH gallery, relax on the beach, explore the heritage trail or simply pause and take in the views.

Because every group is different, we keep our days flexible wherever possible. Whether you'd like more time on the water, longer over lunch or to celebrate a special occasion, we'll do our best to tailor the experience to you.

We can't wait to welcome you to our home and share the Bruny Island we know and love.

An arrival like no other

Most people arrive to Bruny in a line of cars at the ferry terminal, which can mean hours of wait time and less time to actually enjoy the island.
We’ve found another way.

We’ll either pick you up from Hobart or meet you at Oyster Cove Marina in Kettering - about a 30 minute drive south of town. Then, we’ll take the slow way across: about an hour and a half on the water, past Iron Pot, Tasmania's oldest lighthouse, or down toward the Neck for a rare view of one of Bruny's most famous spots. We'll watch for seals, dolphins and seabirds along the way, and share the stories that have shaped these waterways for many, many years.

A long lunch worth lingering over

Our lunch experience is designed to slow you down, show you the best of our local cuisine and enjoy time in one of Bruny’s most beautiful venues, right on the foreshore of Dennes Point, Bruny Island.

Your lunch will feature a custom menu showcasing the best local food and wine Bruny has to offer, including Get Shucked Oysters, Bruny Island Cheese, Tasmanian beer, wine & cider and seasonal locally grown produce - served over four courses, long-table style.

Tell us what your group loves and we'll build the menu around you!

Meet your hosts

Howdy & G’Day!

We're Cameron and Lezli, a Tasmanian and a Texan who met over tacos in Austin, took the leap on love, and built a life at the far edge of the world on Bruny Island.

We’ve been here nearly a decade, and fall more and more in love with Bruny with each passing year. We started Islander because we want to share our home with guests in a meaningful, unique way; for you to feel what life is really like here and fall in love with the magic of the place just like we have.

Hosting every experience ourselves, we want you to experience the island not simply as a visitor, but as we do: through the stories, flavours, landscapes, and community that make it so special.

Get to know The side of Bruny Island most people never see

Showcasing stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, secluded coves, rich history and a close-knit community, North Bruny Island is the island's hidden gem. Home to our signature Long Lunch experience, this quieter corner of Bruny sits just across the channel from mainland Tasmania, yet feels a world away. Reached only by boat or winding gravel roads, it's a place many visitors never discover.

As North Bruny locals, we'll introduce you to the places, people and stories that make this part of the island so special.

  • "An unforgettable day on Bruny Island with the real feeling of being looked after by locals who adore this place. Can't recommend them enough."
